Duplex / Super Duplex Wire & Steel is more durable in both tensile and performance index than traditional or regular stainless steel grades. Hence, the performance of the filler or the metal enhances due to a lighter composition. Duplex steels earn their name as they have a two-phase microstructure that consists of grains of 50% austenitic and 50% ferritic stainless steel.
Super duplex stainless steel, on the other hand, has got a greater strength & corrosion resistance index than duplex stainless steel due to the presence of additional chromium, nitrogen, and molybdenum. Super Duplex stainless steel is often employed in the oil and gas industry, heat exchangers, offshore platforms, chemical processing equipment, boilers, and pressure vessels.
